Location:  Cove, Oregon
Weather:  Paradise.  Sunny skies and around 75 degrees
Status:  Busy!

I've started selling some of my things over at Southern Comfort Scraps, and they are still taking designer applications, if you are interested.

We are also going to have an August Blog Hop, so if you would also like to participate in it, here is the official word from Southern Comfort Scraps:

The color palette is at the bottom of the poster, titled "Conventional Boy".  It is a challenge for me to design with a palette that does not have any of the red spectrum in it.  I love using oranges, pinks or shades of red.  This will certainly be a challenge for me.

If you have any questions, you are welcome to contact me.   I'd love to see you join our team!

I have a big smile on my face, because I have started a new journey in my designer life.  I have joined the design team at Southern Comfort Scraps, and have put a few things up for sale.  It's really a fulfilliing experience, to be invited to be a part of a creative and supportive design team!

I want to assure you that I will still offer some freebies on my blog - You have been so thoughtful to come by and leave such nice comments.  But if you are interested in seeing what I am offering at the SCS shop, stop by and see some of the products like these:

This is a group of extracted photos of jewelry that I love.  I call this set "Treasure Chest".

I love brooches can you tell?  I collect them like some people collect coins, baseball cards or tea cups. My favorite brooches are the ones that look like jeweled bows or ribbons. I have every bow from the “Joan Rivers” collection, and several other designers. They are perfect for the office – they never get in the way of what I am doing, like a bracelet might. My family is never at a loss for what to give me as a birthday gift – I am thrilled with every pin and brooch that comes my way.

I like them so much, that I have started to use them in my digital scrapbooking. I take a photo of the item, and then “Extract” it from its background. I have tried to make them as clean and “jaggie-free” as possible.

I hope that you will have fun adding them to your collection of elements – they are great for special occasion layouts such as for Weddings, Valentine’s Day, Heritage, or dressing up your layouts of your favorite princess!

Thank you for stopping by,

Sunny

Freebie Download - Pond Life June Collaboration

Location:  Cove, Oregon
Temperature:  Raining, 55 degrees
Status:  Content and busy

Here it is, June 1st, already!  So much time has passed since my last post!  I have been busy taking classes, working on the house remodel, my dog's surgery, writing up a grant document, and too many more things to mention.

I love it here in Cove.  This is definitely where I am supposed to be.  I am happy just walking outside and seeing if the mother robin is sitting on her nest above my bedroom window.  She is.  She flew into the nest moments ago with fresh worms.

I am happy just watching the rain clouds move across the floor of the valley, below.  I am just.....happy.

Oh, there are the usual things that pop up to bug me.  I retired on Dec. 31st, and the company has YET to send me a proper retirement check..but hey - EVENTUALLY it should get straightened out.  In the meantime, I am being careful with how I spend my money.

But let's get right to the fun stuff !  I have a download for you, a wonderful Pixel Scrapper collaboration.  It's called "Pond Life", and if you follow the link to the Pixel Scrapper blog, you will find all of the other designers there, with their download locations.

Here is my preview and downloads.  I have even included a few jewelry extractions for you.  I love brooches, so I had a few that seemed to go along with this theme. I have placed my downloaded into two separate packages - one for the elements, and one for the papers.  Just in case you already have enough of one or the other.

I hope you find something in my package that you really enjoy!  Leave me some feedback on how I can improve my work for you.  I love suggestions.

Have a terrific week -

Sunny

Freebie Download - Journal Cards

Location:  Cove, Oregomn
Temp:  62F, Cloudy
Status:  Peaceful

I sit here gazing at the sky over a steaming mug of mexican hot chocolate.  The scents of cinnamon and vanilla are comforting to me. It's a cloudy day, and it has rained gently overnight.  The birds are busy building their baby nests and choosing mates.  We tried to discourage the bird couple that were building in the eaves right above our back door - but to no avail - they mean business, and tell us to just get out of the way.  OK then.

The squirrel has been raiding the bigger bird feeder in the last few days.  The little birds still eat from their smaller feeder farther back in the orchard.  Everybody seems to have their spot picked out, and everyone seems to follow some rules of some sort as to how much time to spend at the feeder, and when to take their seeds somewhere else.

Wish my life was as easy.  The construction on the remodel still goes on - and on - and on.  They were able to turn on the cold water, but so far, no hot water.  The kitchen is still pretty much a shell, but the appliances were delivered the other day.  I think that we are going to try to move our bedroom furniture into the house this weekend, and then just go down to my daughter's house for showers and fixing snacks. It is close, the house being "livable" 24/7, but again, that continues to be several weeks away.

The dirt work on the back yard is going very well.  They pulled out HUGE rocks from the ground, one the size of a washing machine.  It will be used to brace the dirt in the front of the house when we add soil for a raised deck. Although these things don't have to be completed before we move in, it would be so nice to have it all done.  My DH and I have been living out of suitcases since September of last year - COME OOOONNNN..........I need to get on with a normal life!

Attached are new freebie downloads for the "Birds and The Bees" blog hob theme.  Hope you can find something that you can use.

I'll upload more elements and paper for this theme, soon.

Have a terrific weekend!

Hi!  We have another fantastic bunch of freebies for you, in our PixelScrapper April Blog Hop!  The theme is perfect for the upcoming springtime (If you live in my part of the world):  "The Birds and The Bees".

Below is my portion of the hop - I'll filled it with some fun and pretty bees and birds filled with lacy designs, as well as given you some of my watercolor papers.  You know I love to make watercolor papers!

I will be releasing more papers, elements and journals cards for this same theme, every few days beginning April 1st!

To download all of the blog hop freebies, visit this Pixel Scrapper Blog Hop Thread

Things are going slow on the remodel of the house.  I can't figure it out - We have four full-time guys working on it, but it seems like they are never working.  If I mention that point to my DH, he seems to get frustrated with me for bringing it up - so, I just think that he too is frustrated, and just doesn't want to talk about it. For example, the workers seem to leave the site at around 2:00 every day.  What's up with that?  And, on Friday everyone of them went fishing - no one came to work that day.  I try to be understanding, but gee whiz!  We are living with our daughter in her place, until we can get into our home - so, each day is sure a long wait.  I'm sending my good vibes out into the Universe right now, visualizing things moving swiftly toward completion.

Hope you have a terrific Easter Sunday, if you celebrate the occasion.
Thank you for visiting, and I appreciate any feedback and/or suggestion.

Freebie Download Frames

Location:  Cove, Oregon
Temp:  51F, Sunny

I saw the Pan-STARRS comet tonight!  It was GORGEOUS!  So amazingly brilliant as it traveled across the sky. from southeast, to northwest.  Every so often, a trailing piece of the meteor would become visible, and shine like a small star.  I didn't have a telescope, so I could only view it with the naked eye, and my binoculars. The universe is so amazing.

Today was a beautiful sunny day.  It was only 51F, but it felt so good to sit in the sun and let it fill up all of my winter dark places.  I brought lunch out on the deck and my husband and I had a lovely time sitting in the puddle of sun with our dogs.  They kept falling asleep in the warmth.  I wanted to take a nap in the sun too, but it just wasn't really warm enough.  I took my drawing pad outside to draw, and I had every good intention to do so.but I got distracted by the lovely birds in the garden, and the sounds of spring.  I wish I could share with you the feeling of the sun on my face, the gentle breeze across my cheek, and the scent of trees just starting to bud.

I got good news on Thursday.  My brother's cancer diagnosis is good.  His surgery was successful, and the outlook for the future is good.  He will have to be monitored often, but so glad that he will have a long and healthy future.  It would have crushed me to lose another brother - My youngest brother passed away at an early age, from a heart attack.

As you know, our house is being remodeled to such a degree that we are living down the street with our daughter.  That works out ok, but we are anxious for the remodel to be complete.  Unfortunately, in the middle of the night someone came in and stole all of the tools and construction equipment.  Everything happens for a reason, so I am looking for those answers. This too shall pass.  We just move forward.  We've borrowed some tools, so we are doing ok.

At Pixel Scrapper, Marisa has been giving us a "Designer's Challenge" each week.  This week is a challenge to design a frame.  I have designed a few different styles so that you will be able to have an assortment to utilize no matter what your theme.  Hopefully you will find something that you can use. These are under the good karma TOU. :

Hope you have a delightful weekend, and hug the ones you love.

Download - Patterned Paper & .pat file

Location:  Cove, Oregon
Weather:  39F, Snowing slightly
Status:  Happy

Yes, I had my laptop in the shop this past week.  My fault, entirely.  I had put my laptop down on the floor next to my chair, and walked away to check the kitchen crockpot.  I came back to my chair, and my daughter's huge dog, Mathaias came to stand by me.  He is a huge guy, but a marshmallow at heart.  But, as all Italian Mastiff's do, he drools.  He drooled over the keyboard.  That's like pouring a cup of water on the keyboard.  And that means the keyboard stopped working.  At least I am faithful at backing up my data, so I wasn't concerned about the loss of data - just slapping my own forehead for being so careless with my equipment.

Sweet Mathaias

I took the laptop into the shop, and the keyboard can't be replaced - it's a mess.  So, I am simply using a wireless keyboard, and moving on.  I'll replace my equipment after I get settled into our house, still currently under remodel.

On the Pixel Scrapper website, we have a new design challenge going on.  This one is to make a repeating pattern. So, I have bundled up a few papers made with the same repeating pattern, as well as including the .PAT file for you to make your own patterns.  Hope that you can get some use out of it.  This is under the "Good Karma" TOU:

Feel free to come join us at Pixel Scrapper - There is always something for everyone.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
